A missing tooth isn’t just a gap in your smile — it changes how you eat, how you speak, and how you feel about yourself. Other teeth shift. Bone deteriorates. What starts as one missing tooth becomes a bigger problem the longer you wait.
Single Tooth Implant
A titanium post is placed into your jawbone to replace the root of the missing tooth. Once healed, a custom porcelain crown is attached on top. The result looks, feels, and functions like a natural tooth.
Unlike a bridge, a single tooth implant doesn’t require any preparation of adjacent teeth. Your healthy teeth stay untouched. And because the implant stimulates the jawbone, it prevents the bone loss that naturally occurs after a tooth is lost.
Learn more →Implant Crown
The implant crown is the visible part of your dental implant — the tooth you see when you smile. At Compass Dental Care, we use digital scanning to design crowns that fit precisely and match the colour, shape, and translucency of your natural teeth.
Crowns are typically made from porcelain or zirconia, both of which are strong, durable, and natural-looking. Dr Pham ensures every crown is colour-matched to blend seamlessly with your existing teeth.
Learn more →Implant Bridge
If you’re missing three or four teeth in a row, an implant bridge may be a better option than placing individual implants for each tooth. Two implants are placed at either end, and a bridge of connected crowns spans the gap between them.
This approach reduces the number of surgical sites, shortens overall treatment time, and lowers cost compared to placing three or four individual implants. The bridge is fixed permanently — it doesn’t come out and is cared for like natural teeth.
Learn more →All-on-4 Dental Implants
All-on-4 replaces an entire arch of teeth — upper, lower, or both — using just four strategically placed implants. The two rear implants are angled to maximise contact with available bone, which often eliminates the need for bone grafting.
The result is a fixed, permanent set of teeth that look natural and function like your own. No adhesive. No slipping. No removing them at night. For patients who have been living with failing teeth or uncomfortable dentures, All-on-4 can be life-changing.
Learn more →Implant Dentures
Implant dentures — also called snap-on dentures or overdentures — clip onto two to four implants placed in the jawbone. They’re removable for cleaning, but when clipped in, they’re completely secure. No slipping, no adhesive, no embarrassing moments.
This is often a more affordable alternative to All-on-4 for patients who want significantly more stability than traditional dentures but prefer the option of removing their teeth for cleaning.

Dental Implant FAQs
How long does a dental implant take start to finish?
3–6 months total. Consultation and CBCT scan, implant placement surgery, 3–6 month healing period for osseointegration, then final crown fitting. Some cases may need bone grafting which adds time. Dr Pham handles every stage in-house at our Parap practice.
Am I too old for dental implants?
Age alone is not a barrier. What matters is adequate bone density, overall health, and healthy gums. We have placed implants for patients well into their 70s and 80s. A CBCT scan at our Parap practice will confirm whether implants are suitable for you.
Implant vs bridge — which is better?
Implants preserve bone and don’t require grinding down adjacent teeth. Bridges are less invasive and quicker to complete. The right choice depends on your situation — bone density, budget, and how many teeth are missing. We’ll walk through both options at your consultation.
Does getting a dental implant hurt?
The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic, so you shouldn’t feel pain during placement. Most patients say it was less uncomfortable than they expected. Happy gas is available for anxious patients. Post-operative discomfort is usually mild and manageable with over-the-counter pain relief for a few days.
Does DVA cover dental implants?
DVA Gold Card holders may be eligible for implant coverage with prior approval. We submit the treatment plan to DVA on your behalf and handle the approval process. Dr Pham is a registered DVA provider.
